Salmon Fishing The Glenmuick Beat of the River Dee known lies at the centre of Ballater, Aberdeenshire and consists of around 1mile of fishing on the Right bank of the river. There are 13 named pools with reasonable access. Most can be reached by car but a 4 x 4 vehicle is an advantage. The beat is large enough to give variety and hence is fishable in some part at most heights of water. Two rods may fish the water at any one time but on different pools. Some wading is needed in order to make the best use of the water and the Dee Code of 'catch and release' is in operation for salmon although alternate seatrout may be kept. There is a fishing hut overlooking the main pools. Addtional fishing for up to 8 rods is available on Monaltrie and Lower Invercauld, subject to availability.
