Novar Estate, once described as a barren and treeless place, was transformed in the 18th century by Sir Hector Munro who, on his return from service with the East India Company, improved the farmland, drained marshes and planted trees in vast numbers as well as reconstructing Novar House to be a classical Georgian square.

Ardtalla is located on the Novar Estate which was created by Sir Hector Munro in the 18th century and is still owned by his descendants. It is a traditional mixed highland estate extending to 20,000 acres between the Rivers Glass and Alness.

The building is a recent conversion of the original 18th century stable square and provides nine bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom, a large double-storeyed galleried hall, drawing room, dining room, sitting room, billiard room, kitchen, drying room and secure gun room. There is central heating throughout and open fires in the hall, drawing room and dining room. Telephone and internet connections are available.
