There are numerous trout lochs on the estate offering some excellent wild brown trout fishing.
Sea fishing trips can be arranged from Melvich Bay or from Scrabster, which provide a fun day out.
Stalking
Bighouse Estate extends to some 60,000 acres of wild Sutherland landscape bordering onto the Flow Country. The wide rolling plains and hills make stalking an exciting challenge for both the experienced and inexperienced stalker.
Stalking normally takes place from August to October and Hind Stalking from November to February. The estate also provides Roe stalking in the numerous forested areas.
Shooting
The estate has developed a successful driven partridge shoot where birds are driven across deep gullies and ravines in spectacular settings close to the River Halladale. Walked up grouse over dogs is also available at Bighouse and on neighbouring estates. Falconers are also welcome.
There is also excellent rough shooting for woodcock, snipe and pheasant.
