This beautiful sporting lodge offers large comfortable rooms with open fires and a relaxed feel.
The house offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 12 adults with a small rear wing which has a single and a twin bedroom ideal for children or a cook/chef.
The gardens are ideal for children to play and above the garage there is a Games Room which contains a small sized billiard table, darts, table tennis and a piano.
The closest towns are Aberfeldy and Killin. Golf courses are in abundance at Aberfeldy, Kenmore, Pitlochry, Strathtay and Killin. Glenlyon is a splendid area for sightseeing and exploring and is accesible being only 85 miles from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The Lodge offers very comfortable accommodation.
Ground Floor: there is a lovely spacious drawing room, sitting room and dining room (seating 12-14) all of which have open fires, kitchen with aga, cloakroom/gunroom, drying room and domestic quarters.
First Floor: there are 5 twin and 2 single bedrooms (all with basins) and 3 bathrooms in the main part of the house. There is 1 twin, 1 single bedroom and 1 bathroom in the staff quarters.
The lodge let includes all linens and towels, a TV/DVD and CD player, Oil Aga, electric cooker, microwave, 2 fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryer, 2 dishwashers. A cot is available on request.
Dogs are welcome but only on the ground floor.
FISHING:
The fishing comprises 4.5 miles of both double and single bank fishing on the River Lyon which is 30 miles long and flows from Loch Lyon down through one of the loveliest glens in Scotland.
The fishing which goes with the Lodge is for 6 rods on 3 beats (2 rods per beat). The Lyon can fish well from April to October and the average annual catch has been 50 Salmon, with extremes of about 30-90. Good weeks have yielded up to 10 fish.
There is also some good trout fishing on the river, and on Loch Creag a Mhadaidh.
STALKING:
Stalking is available both on South Chesthill and neighbouring estates.
The Forest comprises 6,500 acres and provides some wonderful stalking. Approximately 50 stags and 80 - 100 hinds are culled each year.
The ground on the Estate rises to over 3,000ft. above sea level and is steep in places. The house is at 600 ft, 4x4's can be provided for hill parties.
GROUSE SHOOTING:
There is a modest stock of grouse on the hill for walking up in August and additional walked up grouse can be organised if required.
